I was able to get closer and use a thunderstorm in the distance as the background for the image

It had been a few years since I did this on the first day of the year

but the snow added a different dimension in the late afternoon

With sunrise occurring around 5:30am in the middle of summer along the front range of Colorado it was an early departure from Denver to get there in time

Urban Lights of Tokyo Presentation:Photobox I was able to getWhen you think of Tokyo one of the things which comes to mind is the bright lights in different areas of the metro area. To help convey this I tried a little intentional camera movement (ICM) during my visit. By moving the camera the brightness of the lights starts to show patterns in the photograph taken. In this location in Shinjuku City I used a vertical movement to feature the height of the buildings with the lights.
