It was produced in Italy on behalf of the Museum of Modern Art. The design was re released in 2016 for Design Within Reach, but this example was part of the original production run. The stand is constructed of non corrosive, recycled cast aluminum. The top of the piece is in the shape of a trefoil, allowing umbrellas and canes
