1965 Emperador Marble Coffee Table by Davis Allen and Gordon Bunshaft for SOM Design Oddities designed by Jasper Morrison forThis is a custom designed minimalist coffee table, featuring an impressive slab of fine Spanish Emperador Marble which is perched atop a welded and hand polished stainless steel frame. It was designed in ca. 1965 by Davis Allen and Gordon Bunshaft on behalf of the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill (SOM). Bunshaft was a leading force in the architecture and design world. Davis Allen worked closely with and under Bunshaft to execute
