Denis Mortet, Clos Vougeot Vintage:2018 fleshy and ripe but missing(from a . 32 ha parcel of vines just below those of Chteau de la Tour in the lower middle of the slope; 30% whole clusters and 80% new wood). Noticeable wood fights a bit with the very earthy mix of upper and lower register aromas that include red currant, raspberry, violet, plum and a whiff of the sauvage. The mid palate of the larger scaled flavors is supple and not especially dense though the austere finale tightens up substantially. Like the
